Earth Month “Sustainable Life” Contest
This year, 21st Century Fox Social Impact launched a new Earth Month photo contest for our colleagues entitled “The Sustainable Life.” We encouraged everyone around the company to send us photos of the ways they were living the “sustainable life,” whether it be walking or cycling to work, cooking using local foods, learning more about the natural world by visiting a science museum, visiting a local park, or volunteering in their communities. Check out a few of the winning photos below:
Fox Employees Gather for Annual Earth Day Fair, Volunteering Events
For the seventh year in a row, Fox hosted an Earth Day Fair at its studio lot in Los Angeles. More than two thousand Fox colleagues, along with their friends and family, gathered to enjoy the outdoors and learn a little more about protecting the planet.
The fair brings together dozens of vendors and nonprofits to provide local, organic food and educate attendees on eco-friendly behavior. Activities included gardening workshops presented by Gardenerd and information sessions on the Fox Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Incentive Program.
Other vendors and organizations present included blue Can Water, Ecos, Goat & Kettle, HoneyLove Urban Beekeepers, Mixt Studio, Pura Vida Bracelets, Sow Swell, Green Truck, Theodore Payne Foundation, TreePeople, 2 Degrees Food, and Zero Cost Solar. The County of LA Public Works was also on hand to provide information on the county government’s environmental projects.
Shortly following the Earth Day Fair, the FoxGives group partnered with TreePeople to organize a volunteer clean-up day at nearby Edward Vincent Jr. Park. Fox colleagues visited the park on Thursday, April 23, to perform some much-needed maintenance and groom some newly-planted tree saplings.

Employees Take Part in New York Cares Day
21st Century Fox employees came together on Saturday, April 18, as part of the annual Spring New York Cares Day, a New York City-wide volunteering initiative to clean up the city’s parks and community spaces. New York-area colleagues from the corporate office, Blue Sky Studios, Fox News, and Fox TV Stations spent the day painting, raking, and spreading mulch at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem, giving the park a fresh makeover. 21st Century Fox has supported New York Cares since 1999.
Earth Month Benefits for our New York Colleagues
As part of a special Earth Month promotion, New York-based 21st Century Fox employees enjoyed free tickets to the New York Botanical Garden and the Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Natural History, as well as free 7-day Citi Bike passes. In addition, colleagues were invited to a free sustainable foods cooking class at Rustico Cooking in Manhattan, where they learned how to cook easy, healthy meals using responsibly-sourced ingredients.
